| Our Mission |
| We believe that the capacity to
eradicate abortion lies in mobilizing grassroots activism. That is why we pledge to work with other prolife Montanan’s on aggressive legislative,
political, educational and prayerful advocacy on behalf of the unborn. Our legislative thrust is to promote legislation that gets at the core of the abortion
outrage—that is, disregard for the personhood of the unborn, and the unconstitutionality of judicial tyranny that made Roe v Wade possible. Our goal is
to win the main objective in the long run (abolishing abortion) without compromising in the short run. To that end, one short term goal of Montana ProLife
Coalition is passage of a Personhood Amendment similar to CI 100, that goes to the root of the problem and fights for the foundational
principle. |

Aggressive Advocacy For Unborn |
KALISPELL -- Citing a need for greater grassroots activism on the state level, pro-life leaders from across the state have announced the formation of
Montana ProLife Coalition, pledging aggressive legislative, political and educational advocacy in behalf of the unborn.
Founding board members of Montana ProLife Coalition include Kalispell physician Annie Bukacek, Lewistown pastor Robert Snyder, former state legislators Rick
Jore of Ronan and Roger Koopman of Bozeman, and retired businessman Bill Biernat of Lewistown. Dr. Bukacek was elected acting president. Snyder and Koopman are
outgoing state directors of Right to Life of Montana.
The new group plans to be “very pro-active,” and will be heavily involved in the current session of the Montana Legislature, “advancing
legislation that protects human life at all ages and stages,” Dr. Bukacek said. This would include support for SB 46, creating by referendum, a
constitutional amendment protecting unborn life as a compelling state interest. Montana ProLife Coalition would also back legislation strengthening parental
notification requirements for minors, and supports a proposed bill voicing opposition to the federal Freedom of Choice Act. “Other pro-life measures are
being discussed,” she said, “including a ‘personhood’ amendment similar to that of CI-100.”
According to Bukacek, Montana ProLife Coalition “is a grassroots, Montana-based citizen’s group that will focus on mobilizing pro-life Montanans
who wish to get involved.” Their long-range plans include the sponsoring of educational programs and presentations, tracking and disseminating
legislative voting records, public and private prayer, picketing and peaceful protest. Local chapters are now being formed, and a website is being created.
“The value of protecting innocent humans is timeless, unequivocal, and goes to the very core of what in means to be a treasured human being made in
God’s image. It is worth fighting for, and each battle is of value in and of itself, whether there are legal gains or losses. Furthermore, if we
don’t stand up for those who can’t speak for themselves and vigorously oppose their slaughter, we contribute to the progressive decline of this
nation,” Dr. Bukacek said. |
